Empowering Futures: Dual Credit Scholarships

For a number of years, Fremont Public Schools has offered our high school students the opportunity to take courses that earn college credit as well as credit toward high school graduation.  The FPS Foundation has been able to provide assistance to those students in need to help offset the costs of the college credit.  Since 2016, we have provided more than $80,000 to help these students!

As an example, the FHS CTE Center offers students hands-on experience in Auto/Diesel Tech, Construction Tech, Welding/Metal Fabrication, Robotics/Automation, CAD/CAM, and Health Occupations. In collaboration with Metropolitan Community College, most coursework offered through the center is eligible for Dual Credit, allowing students to earn college credit and High School credit simultaneously.

To ensure the CTE Center remains a hub for cutting-edge technical education, the Fremont Public Schools and the FPS Foundation have committed to raising private funds for future updates and improvements to the high-tech and high-cost equipment needed to keep the programming current. To date, more than $2 million has been pledged as part of the campaign.

You can make a tangible difference in the lives of our students by contributing to the Dual Credit Assistance Scholarship. Every gift—whether made online, mailed to the Foundation office, or donated through events like the annual Jim Ebers Golf Classic—directly offsets costs for tuition, books, and supplies, helping Fremont students pursue career pathways and college credit with confidence.
