JCAC Team 5D Field Trip
The 5th-grade teachers of Team 5D at Johnson Crossing Academic Center are requesting $590.00 to help fund a field trip to the Kiewit Luminarium. This grant will support a hands-on experience for students, allowing them to explore more than 120 interactive exhibits. The teachers note that many of their students come from a variety of backgrounds and would not otherwise have such an amazing opportunity. Although the Kiewit Luminarium offers a generous reduced admission of $5 per student for high-poverty schools, the team is also responsible for busing expenses, bringing the total cost for the trip to nearly $1,000. Upon returning to school, students will make connections between their experience and all curricular areas.
